About
My name is Hayley Kearns
I grew up on land surrounded by the Australian bush, where animals were just part of everyday life. We always had pets and our home was regularly visited by local wildlife - echidnas wandering through, koalas in the trees, green tree frogs jumping from the roof of the house, you name it.
While I've always loved animals, I truly began following my passion for wildlife photography in 2025. You'll probably notice I have a special love for birds, something I didn't always have growing up (I used to be terrified of their claws and beaks), but a love I inherited from my grandad, John Kearns. I don't discriminate when it comes to wildlife - I love all animals but have a particular soft spot for the "unloved" ones too, like crabs, geese, bush (brush) turkeys and ibis. I hope my work helps create appreciate and respect for the unusual and overlooked, not just the cute and fluffy.
Through Wild Kearns, I share the moments I'm lucky enough to witness, offer prints for those who want to bring a piece of the wild into their home and help raise awareness for animal conservation. A portion of all sales is donated to conservation efforts, supporting the protection of wildlife, their habitats and the environments they depend on.
